Memorial written by: Marty Luna
Dusty came in to our family the summer of 2020 - smiling on our front porch as a stray. After no one claimed him, he quickly filled our hearts and home with love. He was heartworm positive and hungry for food and attention. We nursed him back to health and he became Mike's best friend, traveling the south hauling containers of milk to the milk plants of South Alabama, Kentucky and Florida. If you didn't pet him, a little nudge on your hand let you know he expected it. He loved everyone and followed the sounds of people where he knew he would get more love and treats and pats on the head. In the spring of this year, he had developed a mass on his side that was cancerous which we had removed but knew it could come back. We enjoyed another 6 months with him until the cancer came back with a vengeance, taking him from us only two days after he quickly went downhill and another mass was detected. Dusty is missed beyond measure, but he will forever be in our hearts and will be waiting over the rainbow bridge for us for we all know that all dogs go to heaven!
